From Dr. Karen Gray, Superintendent: “Recently, people are emailing me the exact same message from “One Click Politics” about wanting parent choice on COVID vaccinations. Let me set the record straight.

There is currently NO requirement to have your child vaccinated for COVID. If the Governor wants to go down the road of requiring this vaccination, it will have to go through a complex process. There are vaccinations currently required by law to attend Oregon public schools such as measles, mumps, and rubella. If it ever comes from the State that vaccinations for COVID are required, we can cross that bridge then. It is NOT the case now.”

Recientemente, la gente me ha estado enviando un correo electrónico con exactamente el mismo mensaje de “Política de un clic” acerca de que los padres quieren la opción de vacunar o no vacunar a sus estudiantes contra el covid. Déjenme aclarar las cosas.

Actualmente NO existe ningún requisito para vacunar a su estudiante contra Covid. Si la gobernadora quiere seguir el camino de requerir esta vacuna, tendrá que pasar por un proceso muy complejo. Actualmente, existen vacunas requeridas por ley para asistir a las escuelas públicas de Oregón, como el sarampión, las paperas y la rubéola. Si alguna vez el Estado dice que, si se requieren las vacunas para Covid, podemos hablar de eso entonces. Pero NO es el caso ahora.
