Elementary School Culinary Cooking Competition

We have extended the recipe submission date from the January 10th to January 17th.  No recipe submissions will be available after the 17th.

This is an invitation for your student to participate in the 6th annual Lincoln County School District Elementary School Culinary Cooking Competition.

This Year’s theme is “Re-Imagining Your Favorite Lunch Meal.”

Students from K through 5th grade are eligible to participate. The student must be able to prepare the food on his/her own. On the day of the event, the student will be supervised by kitchen staff and Sodexo will provide all of the necessary ingredients and supplies.

Recipes must be turned in to the school kitchen no later than January 17, 2020. Please use the recipe format that is attached to this letter. No late entries will be accepted. On January 17th, two recipes will be chosen from each school, and those students whose recipes are chosen will be invited as finalists to participate in the cooking competition scheduled for Saturday, March 7th from 9:00am to 1:00pm (the location of the event will be announced at a later date).

The finalists will prepare their recipes in front of a panel of judges. The judges will vote and award on the following categories:

  • Health-conscious foods
  • Simple, kid-friendly preparation
  • Fun kid foods
  • Judge’s Choice
  • Best table presentation

All finalists will receive a Chef’s Coat & Chef’s Hat.
