LCSD Board of Directors Recognitions

Posted on June 12, 2025

In addition to conducting usual business at their monthly meeting this week, the Lincoln County School District Board of Directors honored several individuals and groups for their efforts and accomplishments.

One of the evening’s highlights was honoring Newport High School’s Aaidyn Bokuro, who set a new school record in the boys triple jump with an astonishing distance of 45 feet, 7 inches. Aaidyn’s achievement not only sets a new bar for Newport athletics but also reflects the incredible talent and discipline of our student-athletes.

Also recognized was Senitila McKinley, who was presented with the Tom Moore Memorial Award during her final board meeting. McKinley served on the school board for four years, demonstrating unwavering dedication to student success, equity, and inclusion. Her leadership and commitment have left a lasting mark on the district.

The board also celebrated the outstanding work of the Newport Middle School Site Council, which has played a key role in supporting student academic success, engagement, and well-being. Their collaborative efforts have helped strengthen connections between staff, families, and students, making a meaningful difference on campus.

Board members and representatives of the 2025 Bond political action committee KIDS (Keep Investing In District Schools) of Lincoln County extended heartfelt thanks to the community for supporting the recently passed school bond. Their message was clear: this investment in our schools is an investment in the future of every Lincoln County student.
