Teen CERT!

Teen CERT!

Posted on May 22, 2025

Lincoln County students showcased their lifesaving skills at the annual Teen CERT Day! This comprehensive semester-long elective, available at all four LCSD high schools, trains students in disaster response with a focus on school-based emergencies. The program prioritizes safety through buddy systems and proper protective equipment, while teaching systematic emergency management. Students were evaluated on practical skills including the newly added CPR, AED, and First Aid certifications.

Beyond emergency preparedness, Teen CERT builds confidence, leadership, and teamwork that benefit students throughout their lives. Community experts introduce participants to potential career paths while helping them develop critical skills to assist when professional responders aren’t immediately available. Our nationally recognized program continues to serve as a model for schools across the country.

A big THANK YOU to all the volunteers who helped!
