Congratulations to Shelley Moore, Athletic Director and Assistant Principal at Newport High School, who has been recognized by the National Interscholastic Athletic Administrators Association (NIAAA) as a Certified Master Athletic Administrator!
This certification places Shelley among an elite group of athletic administrators nationwide. The rigorous certification process evaluated her educational background, experience, leadership training, and professional contributions, culminating in a practical project. “To earn my Certified Master Athletic Administrator certification, I developed a project called Growing Up Cub, which began four years ago with small youth nights and has grown into a K-12 athletic alignment plan,” said Shelley. “It built on strategies we had in place already.”
Her project focuses on giving access to all coaches in Newport to NHS programs, systems, and education-based athletic philosophy — ultimately building participation, improving coaching, and positively impacting student graduation and success beyond K-12 education.
As the OADA President Elect, Shelley continues to demonstrate leadership not just within our district but across Oregon. Her commitment to excellence in athletic administration reflects our district’s dedication to providing outstanding opportunities for all students.
Please join us in congratulating Shelley on her achievement! 👏
