LCSD staff and the Healthy & Equitable Schools team proudly supported the 29th Run to the Rogue on May 31, 2024. We provided food and drinks for our Native American student runners and gave them gift swag as a token of appreciation for their participation.

Run to the Rogue is a 213-mile relay run/walk honoring the memory of Siletz Tribal ancestors who were forcibly removed from their Rogue River homeland in the mid-1800s and marched north to the Coast Reservation in Siletz. This annual 3-day event allows today’s Tribal members to connect with their ancestors’ experiences and journey.

We are honored to support this meaningful tradition and the incredible student runners!

El personal de LCSD y el equipo de Escuelas Saludables y Equitativas apoyaron con orgullo la 29ª Carrera al Rogue el 31 de mayo de 2024. Proporcionamos comida y bebidas para nuestros estudiantes corredores nativos americanos y les dimos regalos como muestra de agradecimiento por su participación.

Run to the Rogue es una carrera/caminata por relevos de 213 millas que honra la memoria de los antepasados de la tribu Siletz que fueron expulsados a la fuerza de su tierra natal del río Rogue a mediados del siglo XIX y marcharon hacia el norte, a la reserva costera de Siletz. Este evento anual de tres días permite a los miembros de la tribu de hoy en día conectar con las experiencias y el viaje de sus antepasados.
