This is an exciting time for LCSD students! It’s Oregon Goes to College Month! Here are just some of the events being held to support our college-bound graduates:

November ‘Oregon Goes to College’ Month activities 2018:

Note: CAW stands for College Application Week

WHS:

• Week of Oct. 31-Nov. 2: rep from U of O speaking to our students.  
• Week of Nov 5-9: presenting FAFSA with appointments for every senior to complete throughout the week, as well as every senior finishing their OSAC & OR Promise.
• Week of Nov 12-15: Focusing on scholarships, local and state-wide.  
  • Nov. 14 Western Or rep on campus
  • Nov. 15 OCCC coming in to present to students.
• Week of Nov. 26: CAW.  We will have 100% applicants and have a bulletin board ready to show progress all week, have awards, goodies, handouts etc.  
• Every Friday is “Wear your favorite college shirt day” for all students and staff.  
• Notified Gear Up and invited a volunteer to come for them as well

Toledo Jr/Sr:

• Participates in CAW November 5th-9th in the GEAR UP room. All seniors will apply to college(s) during this time. During CAW, we also make sure that students have access to FAFSA, OSAC, and other scholarship help if needed.
• Holly Shank from OCCC is also going to be present on Wednesday and Friday morning for admission questions and application help to OCCC.

Taft High:

• 10/16-19–College Application Week
• 10/24 LCSD College Fair
• 10/24-FAFSA Night w/ OCCC and GU here to assist
• 10/29-National College Fair

Newport HS:

• CAW Nov 6-9 (see file – AC and WC indicate locations on campus for events/support)
