Alternative Environment (Alternative Education)

altedkids

Lincoln County School District offers an Alternative Environment program to encourage students who may not fit into the traditional school atmosphere to continue their learning, to return to their home school, and to graduate.

Any high school student who feels he or she could benefit from alternative learning will meet with their parent/guardian, high school principal and counselor to discuss options, including enrolling in their local Alternative Environment classroom.

Lessons are presented online in multimedia formats (text and video) with caring adults available to help with the learning. Students work at their own pace based on their needs, concentrating on two subjects over a six-week period.

Alternative Environment classrooms are located in:

The Alternative Environment program is under the direction of Eric Clendenin, Director of Secondary Education.
