Bond Projects

Thank You, Lincoln County Voters!

In May 2011, you supported our $63 million bond measure proposal by a large margin. We are humbled and encouraged by this show of support for our students and our schools!

With the grand opening of the new Waldport High School in September 2013, many people may have thought the “to-do list” of capital improvement projects at local schools was finished. In fact, work continued at many district schools, with all bond-funded capital improvement projects completed by the end of May 2015.

We are proud to report that, as promised, we were able expend the majority of the capital improvement funds locally, right here in Lincoln County! Final accounting will wrap up by the end of this fiscal year (June 30, 2015), but we anticipate it being close to 70%, or roughly
$44 million that went back into our local economy!

VIDEO: "Promises Kept," narrated by retired Superintendent Tom Rinearson.

WEST AREA PROJECTS

The video above was created by Athletic Field Design. The same company constructed the pitcher's mounds at TOLEDO, TAFT and WALDPORT high schools, as well. So check it out!

The slide show above was created by Clay Creech, a dedicated Newport Booster Volunteer. We are extremely grateful to "Paparazzi Creecher," as he calls himself! He devoted countless hours photographing the upgrade to the NHS football field. Then, he condensed his multiple hundreds of photos to a few dozen, creating a 3-1/2 minute presentation that he posted on YouTube.

The process of upgrading the football fields at Toledo Jr/Sr High and at Newport High were mostly identical... except, of course, for the addition of "Boomers" or "Cubs" on the field! Check it out!
